A Kingdom Received | DAY NINETEEN

“People were bringing little children to him in order that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” After taking them in his arms, he laid his hands on them and blessed them.”

Mark 10:13-16 CSB

God’s Kingdom does not look very much like most of the world’s cities and kingdoms. Many in our world would consider it quite backwards. The Upside-down. The least shall be greatest, that last are to be first, and we cannot receive it unless we receive it like a little child. So often the rich, powerful and famous are first in our world, but in God’s kingdom that whole system gets turned upside down.

Let us pray that we might trust God’s will for Tallahassee with the eagerness of little children. Let us pray for our Kid’s ministry and for all children in Tallahassee, that they might come to know and trust Jesus as the true Savior of the world.

This passage is also the focus of this week’s sermon.  Check out this week’s Mark Devotion to dive deeper.
