We LOVE our new series, Clue Catchers! In this series, we are pretending to be detectives who search for clues and solve mysteries about God using the Bible! We go along with Agent A every week to try and figure out mysteries about God!

Need To Know: "God Made Everything!"

Christ Connection: Wow! Can you believe that God made everything? God is so powerful! God created all things through our savior, Jesus Christ! Jesus saved us because we decided not to listen to God anymore. God is perfect and he makes us his children by sending His Son to save us.

Bible Story: Creation, Genesis 1-2

First this: God created the Heavens and Earth--all you see, all you don't see. Earth was a dark soup of nothing, a bottomless emptiness. God's Spirit watched like a bird above the deep, dark water.

God spoke: "Light!" And light appeared. God saw that light was good. God named the light Day, he named the dark Night. It was evening, and it was morning--Day One.

God spoke: "Sky!" And there it was: he named the sky the Heavens; it was evening, and it was morning--Day Two.

God spoke: "Land, appear!" And there it was. God named the land Earth. He named the pooled water Ocean. God saw that it was good.

God spoke: "Earth! Grow all varieties of green plants, every sort of fruit tree." And there it was. God saw that it was good. It was evening, it was morning--Day Three.

God spoke: "Lights! Come out! Shine in Heaven's sky! Separate Day from Night." And there it was. God made two big lights, the larger to take charge of Day, the smaller to be in charge of Night; and he made the stars. God saw that it was good. It was evening, it was morning--Day Four.

God spoke: "Ocean, fill with fish and all sea life! Birds, fly through the sky over Earth!" God saw that it was good. God blessed them: "Fish in the waters--have children! Birds in the sky--have children!" It was evening, it was morning--Day Five.

God spoke: "Earth! Become alive with every kind of life!" And there it was: wild animals of every kind, cattle of all kinds, every sort of reptile and bug. God saw that it was good.

God spoke: "Let us make people to reflect our image, so they can take care of the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, and, yes, Earth itself." God created people in his image, reflecting his nature. He created them male and female. God blessed them: "Have children! Take care of every living thing on the Earth."

Then God said, "I've given you every sort of plant and fruit tree for food. To everything that moves and breathes I give whatever grows out of the ground for food." And there it was.

God looked over everything he had made; it was so good, so very good! It was evening, it was morning--Day Six.

Heaven and Earth were finished, down to the last detail.

By the seventh day God had finished his work. He rested on the seventh day, he rested from all his work.

God blessed the seventh day. He made it a Holy Day because on that day he rested from his work, all the creating God had done.
